Hatha for Climbers (35 min) | YOGA

35m
In this practice I'll demonstrate how using a strap can be really effective for creating space through the shoulders and chest muscles. I've always been rather tight through the shoulders, and I found when I first started seeing people do yoga, there were all these arm binds that seemed like something my body could never do. So there were all these poses meant to help my shoulders, but instead I just felt like I was trying to become a pretzel. A simple strap can go a long way in providing a great opportunity to open up the body, and can really make those poses accessible. I call this Hatha for Climbers because it really targets areas of the body that are often tight for climbers, but it’s a good general practice for upper body wellness.
Equipment: Strap (a towel or a belt will do), bolster, maybe a block.
