Gardening has been a favourite pastime of mine for little over a decade, and there is nothing quite like the joy I get from working in soil. However, the nature of the work does take its toll on the body, especially for those who are working all day long. This yoga practice is meant to alleviate that strain, with a lot of focus on creating space through the hips and spine. Move through this sequence all at once at the end of the day, or split it up to give your body some reprieve throughout the day.
Equipment: I have a 5ft pole I use in this video, and you could easily use a broom, rake, or shovel. I give options though if you’d rather not use any props.
Intensity Level: Gentle
Suggested Listening: Here’s a compilation I made of one of my favourite artists, Phaeleh. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5co0VJnmchgbTBTTfgFoUA?si=56f5ae1257b04185
