Breath and Balance (32 min) | YOGA
Moderate
•
32m
This slow and deliberate sequence focuses on our movement and breath in and out of various single legged postures. Maintaining good balance is important for many activities of everyday life, such as walking and hiking, and practicing balance is a great way to maintain leg strength and help prevent falls as we age. Improved balance also easily translates into improved athletic performance. I also find that balancing postures really challenge our mental capacity to stay mindful of our breath while challenging our body to find stability. If standing on one leg is challenging, give yourself a bit of support by setting up near a wall or a stable chair: over time, use the support less and less so that you can work towards longer holds on one leg.
