The Kettlebell Snatch is one of my all time favorite exercises, and some people call it the Queen of all Kettlebell moves. At first glance, it’s clear that this exercise works the shoulder girdle, but a lot of the power for this move is generated from the hips and legs. The snatch is fantastic for building explosive power and strength in glutes and hamstrings. This athletic movement will improve your core stability and abdominal strength, and can really heat things up fast for cardiovascular benefits. Even grip strength improves with this exercise. Do you get the sense yet that I like it?
Though it is a fantastic exercise, there are some inherent risks if done incorrectly or with too much weight. Rotator cuff injuries are one of the major risks. In this video I’ll go over some tips to help you generate more power in this move while keeping yourself as safe as possible.
Equipment: Kettlebell that is light enough for you to safely work with overhead. Start light!
